This is a day trip from Fukuoka to Yamaguchi Prefecture, where we will visit Akiyoshido Cave, Motonosumi Inari Shrine, Tsunoshima Bridge, and then return to Fukuoka to end the day. |Wafubari PA| A 20-minute stop here. The observation deck at Wafubari PA is an excellent spot to admire the beautiful scenery of the Kanmon Straits. The cityscape on both sides of the straits, the ships coming and going, and the changing sea view are all intoxicating. Wafubari PA has a specialty store where tourists can purchase various local products from Kyushu and Shimonoseki, such as local delicacies and handicrafts, to create wonderful memories of their trip. |Akiyoshido Cave| Akiyoshido Cave is one of Japan's three most famous caves. Inside, the "Golden Pillar," which is over 15 meters high and 4 meters in diameter, is an extremely spectacular stalactite pillar. The lighting inside the cave is cleverly designed, using soft light to allow visitors to clearly appreciate the various landscapes inside the cave, while creating a mysterious and dreamlike atmosphere. |Motonosumi Inari Shrine| In 2015, Motonosumi Inari Shrine was selected by CNN Travel as one of "The 31 most beautiful places in Japan". The shrine has 123 red torii gates that stretch continuously from the hillside to the sea for over 100 meters. The red torii gates form a beautiful contrast with the blue sea and green vegetation, creating a picturesque landscape. In winter, in the cave formed by seawater erosion under the cliff, whenever large waves hit the crevices of the rock wall, a dragon-like roar is produced, and the seawater is sprayed upward along with the air in the cave. August 9 - August 17, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays every week from September to November (public holidays during this period are: September 15, September 23, October 13, November 3, November 24), Motonosumi Inari Shrine will be closed. During the period when Motonosumi Inari Shrine is inaccessible, the destination will be changed to: Fukutoku Inari Shrine (stop for 30-40 minutes) Address: 2960-1 Uka, Toyoura-cho, Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi 〒759-6303 |Tsunoshima Bridge| In order not to damage the surrounding landscape, the Tsunoshima Bridge deliberately reduces the height of the bridge piers, making the bridge look as if it extends infinitely on the sea, perfectly blending with the surrounding natural landscape, and there is no abrupt feeling visually. Because of the beautiful scenery of Tsunoshima Bridge, it often appears in movies, Japanese dramas, and car commercials.
