Overview

This full-day tour lasts about eight hours and takes place in a minivan with air conditioning. It departs from Lecce with hotel pickup and drop-off included. An expert guide who speaks English and Italian provides historical details about each location along the way. The first stop is Ostuni, known as the "White City" for its whitewashed houses and medieval alleys. Visitors have one hour of free time to explore the old town center called "la terra," with its narrow streets, sloping stairs, courtyards, craft shops, and small local stores. Next, the tour passes through Locorotondo, often called "the balcony on the Itria Valley" because of its wide views over the valley. After that, there is a two-hour visit to Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its unique Trulli buildings. Guests can explore the historic center at their own pace, including the Rione Monti district with its craft shops and the Aia Piccola area, which has the oldest Trulli and small museums. The final stop is Polignano a Mare, a town perched on cliffs above the sea and known as the birthplace of Domenico Modugno. Visitors have one hour to walk through the historic center, see remnants of Roman structures like the still-used Via Traiana bridge, and reach terraces that offer views over the sea. Lunch is not included, so participants should plan accordingly.
