Overview

This 46-hour overnight camel safari begins near Jaisalmer, India, and travels through remote and isolated areas of the Thar Desert. Participants ride their own camels guided by experienced camel guides. The safari includes visits to local villages and opportunities to observe native wildlife. The group will watch both sunset and sunrise in the desert. Meals are freshly prepared over a campfire by the guides, and guests may learn local cooking techniques during the trip. Dinner and breakfast are included, along with mineral or filtered water. Sleeping arrangements consist of clean swags and custom-made bedrolls set up outdoors under the open sky, as there are no tents or washroom facilities on the route; toilets require going behind bushes. A jeep transfer is provided at the start or end of the safari. The tour requires a minimum of two people to operate, with a maximum group size of eight unless a private group is booked. Passports are required for participation. The standard meal plan is vegetarian, but non-vegetarian options are available for an additional charge. Alcohol, soft drinks, city sightseeing, travel insurance, and emergency pick-up are not included. The tour may be canceled due to bad weather, with a refund or rescheduling offered.
