Overview

This private sports running tour covers approximately 5 miles through Paris and lasts between 2 and 3 hours. The route is customized to start from the runner’s residence and adjusts to their pace and preferences. An experienced local guide, who is both a knowledgeable Paris expert and an active runner, leads the tour. The guide shares information about the city’s development, culture, and landmarks while running. The tour includes multiple stops at major sites. At the Louvre Museum, there is a five-minute stop to learn about the history and see notable courtyards and passages. The route continues through the Jardin des Tuileries, where runners pass through the park and stop for seven minutes to hear about the castle and gardens. At Place de la Concorde, the group pauses for seven minutes to learn stories about the square and take photos. The tour proceeds to Palais Garnier, with a five-minute stop to discuss the 19th-century changes to the opera house. Running along the Seine River, the guide provides commentary on riverside sights. On Île de la Cité, the group stops for about fifteen minutes at several key locations including the Conciergerie, Sainte-Chapelle, Palais de Justice, Notre-Dame, Marché aux Fleurs, Hôtel-Dieu, and Préfecture de Police, with historical details shared at each. Other highlights may include a five-minute stop at the Musée d’Orsay building to learn about its history, views of the Eiffel Tower depending on the route, running along the Champs-Élysées with explanations, and passing the Esplanade des Invalides while learning about Hôtel des Invalides. The tour also includes a ten-minute stop at Domaine National du Palais-Royal to see its courtyards, gardens, and galleries. Depending on the customized route, runners may pass Luxembourg Gardens or Jardin des Plantes. A three-minute stop at Pont Neuf provides information about Paris’s oldest bridge. If conditions allow and the Petit Palais is open, there may be a short ten-minute visit inside this building. The guide carries maps and historical photos to illustrate the tour, which are provided to participants at the end. All photos taken during the run are given afterward via Dropbox. Bottled water is included. Most museums are viewed from outside, except for the possible visit to Petit Palais under specific conditions.
