Itinerary

1

Praia Dona Ana

This stop shows Praia Dona Ana from the sea, one of Lagos’s most visited beaches. The beach lies within the Costa D 'Oiro area, named for the yellow-golden hue of the surrounding rocks. It is the largest beach in the area, sheltered from wind with calm, clear water, located between Lagos city port and the Ponta da Piedade lighthouse. The rocks on the shore provide shade. Swimmers often go to the base of the cliffs and rocky outcrops in the water. The beach is named after D. Ana, a nun who escaped a World War I attack on her convent by fleeing through a secret tunnel to the beach.

2

Praia do Camilo

Praia do Camilo is accessed by a wooden staircase and is considered the most beautiful beach in Lagos municipality. It sits below cliffs that offer views of the coast between Lagos and Albufeira. The beach is divided by a large rock formation, which visitors can walk through via an excavated tunnel. The tunnel walls contain many shells embedded in the rock. Visitors can enjoy sea views here and are encouraged to take photos.

3

Ponta da Piedade

This stop features the Ponta da Piedade headland’s limestone cliffs, which include sea pillars, fragile rock arches, and hidden grottos formed by winter storms. The headland is exposed and windy, but the cliffs display a golden color and stand above turquoise waters. The boat navigates close to these precarious rock formations and passes along beaches, coves, and caves known worldwide for their unique natural shapes. The cruise is on a modern boat with padded seats for comfort.
