Overview

This six-hour day trip from Ljubljana visits Postojna Cave, Slovenia’s largest and most famous cave system. The cave is about two million years old and stretches 21 kilometers underground, featuring accessible paths and formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, and translucent cave curtains. Visitors start with a ride on an electric train through the cave, followed by a guided walk through several chambers. The cave is also home to the rare amphibian Proteus Anguinus, known locally as the "baby dragon." After exiting the cave, the tour continues to Predjama Castle. This castle is dramatically set on a vertical cliff over 100 meters high and was once the home of the robber knight Erasmus.
