This private walking tour lasts about three and a half hours and covers the main historic districts on both the left and right riverbanks of Prague. The tour begins at Prague Castle, the largest castle complex in the world, founded in 870 and featuring the Gothic Saint Vitus’ Cathedral. From the castle hill, the route descends to the Lesser Town (Malá Strana) on the left riverbank, an area formed in 1257 from several small settlements. Visitors will see notable buildings such as the Wallenstein Palace and the Baroque St. Nicholas Church. The tour includes a visit to the Lennon Wall, a graffiti-covered tribute to John Lennon located in the Lesser Town. Crossing the Charles Bridge, which connects the left and right riverbanks and is lined with 30 Baroque statues, the tour continues to the right riverbank. Here, the guide will show the Klementinum, home to the National Library, and then the Jewish Quarter, including the Pinkas Synagogue with its memorial walls and access to the Old Jewish Cemetery, as well as the Old-New Synagogue, the oldest active synagogue in Europe dating from 1270. The tour proceeds to the Old Town Square, surrounded by historic palaces and churches, and includes the Old Town Hall with its 15th-century astronomical clock. Prague Castle
Prague Castle is the largest castle complex in the world, founded in 870 and situated on a hill overlooking the city. It includes Saint Vitus’ Cathedral, a Gothic structure built over about 1,000 years. The castle has been the seat of Czech presidents and was once the Holy Roman Empire’s center under Emperor Charles IV. It was also occupied by Adolf Hitler during World War II.

Originally small settlements of mostly ethnic German merchants invited by King Přemysl Otakar II, it was consolidated into a royal town in 1257. The area endured fires in 1419 and 1541. St. Nicholas Church dominates the Lesser Town skyline as the most notable Baroque church in Prague. Composer W.A. Mozart practiced on its organ because of its favorable acoustics.
