Overview

The tour lasts about eight to nine hours and starts with a visit to the Qobustan Rock Art Reserve, a UNESCO-protected site. Visitors spend around one and a half hours exploring caves, ancient rock paintings, and two museums: an open-air museum and a modern interactive museum built in 2011. Next, the tour continues to the mud volcanoes of Absheron, where the landscape resembles a lunar surface; this stop lasts about 40 minutes. The group then visits the Ateshgah Fire Temple for approximately 50 minutes to see the site where fire worship, Zoroastrianism, and Hinduism converge. Afterward, the tour proceeds to Yanardag, or 'Burning Mountain,' where eternal flames have been burning for thousands of years; this visit lasts about 30 minutes. The final stop is the Heydar Aliyev Center, a modern architectural landmark designed by Zaha Hadid, where visitors have a 40-minute photo stop. Transportation is provided in a comfortable vehicle, and a professional guide leads the tour with drop-off at Baku's Old City. Entrance fees and lunch are not included.
