The Queenstown Shotover River White Water Rafting Adventure lasts about four and a half hours. It begins with a shuttle bus transfer from Queenstown to the Rafting Base. Upon arrival, participants receive a safety briefing and are fitted with a full wetsuit, rafting clothing, and safety equipment. Next, a 40-minute 4WD drive takes the group along Skippers Canyon Road to Deep Creek. This road is known for its challenging driving conditions and scenic views. The rafting starts on the upper section of the Shotover River, where guides instruct on paddling techniques. The trip continues into the lower canyon, navigating rapids named After Shock, Jaws, Toilet, and Sequel. Rafters then pass through the 170-metre-long Oxenbridge Tunnel and emerge into Cascade Rapid for the final section. After rafting, participants walk back to the Rafting Base, where hot showers are available. The tour ends with a shuttle ride back to Queenstown. Digital photos of the trip are included. Food and drinks are not provided.
