This four-hour tour departs from Ayia Napa or Protaras and includes a ride on the Red Bus to Varosha, also known as the Ghost Town of Famagusta. Varosha was a popular holiday resort in the 1970s, visited by celebrities such as Raquel Welch, Brigitte Bardot, Elizabeth Taylor, and Richard Burton. Since 1974, the area has been abandoned due to conflict, leaving hotels, shops, bars, and homes empty. A licensed English-speaking guide accompanies the group and provides an exclusive map to help navigate the designated zones and identify notable buildings. Upon arrival, participants have two hours to walk freely within the authorized areas of Varosha. During this time, visitors may explore the streets, stop for a coffee or snack, or swim at the beaches. Pickup and drop-off from Ayia Napa or Protaras are included. Tea, coffee, lunch, and gratuities are not included. Participants who wish to swim should bring swimsuits and towels. Only holders of European passports or EU IDs from any EU country, the UK, Norway, Iceland, or Switzerland are allowed to join the tour.
