A signature hot chicken fajita lunch is served riverside before the afternoon portion. The afternoon features a run through the Racecourse section of the Lower Gorge, which includes 6 miles of class 2-3 rapids like the Maze, Albert’s Falls, The Narrows, and The Thunderdome. This section lies along the Rio Grande fault line, providing a change in geology as well as more intense whitewater. The guides focus on safety and provide paddling commands throughout the day.
