Overview

This three-hour self-drive tour in Rome lets you take the wheel of a vintage Fiat 500, a compact car from 1950s Italy. You drive through narrow streets that larger vehicles cannot access, guided by an expert who leads you past major landmarks. The route passes the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, and the Mouth of Truth, among others. You also stop to look through the Aventine Keyhole and visit the Garden of the Oranges. Additional stops include the ruins of the Terme di Caracalla baths, the Janiculum Terrace at Piazzale Giuseppe Garibaldi with panoramic views of Rome, and Porta San Paolo, the site of the ancient pyramid tomb of Gaius Cestius. The tour includes tea and coffee, a professional guide, and free photo opportunities using your own camera or phone. There is no hotel pickup or drop-off, and food, drinks, and gratuities are not included. The vintage Fiat 500 cars have manual transmissions, so drivers must be experienced with a stick shift and hold a valid EU license or International Driving Permit. The tour is designed for at least two people per booking.
