Overview

This walking tour focuses on the key sites of Ancient Rome, starting at the Colosseum. Guests enter through the gladiator’s gate and gain special access to the arena floor where gladiators fought. From this vantage point, they can look down into the arena dungeons and take in the structure surrounding them. The guided visit lasts about 45 minutes at the Colosseum, where stories of gladiator battles and spectacles are shared. Next, the tour continues to the Roman Forum, once the social, political, and religious center of the city. Visitors spend about 45 minutes walking among the ruins of temples, villas, and arches along streets once traveled by emperors. The guide explains the historical significance of the site and its role in daily Roman life. The Arch of Titus, a triumphal arch built in the first century AD by Emperor Domitian to honor his father and brother, is included as a 15-minute stop on the main street of the Forum. The final part of the tour is a 45-minute climb up Palatine Hill, known as the legendary founding place of Rome and the richest neighborhood in Ancient Rome. From the hill, guests can see panoramic views of Piazza Venezia, Circus Maximus, and the Colosseum. The entire tour lasts about three hours and includes entrance tickets for the Colosseum with arena floor access, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. A live guide and audioguide system are provided. Hotel pickup and drop-off are not included.
