Overview

This 2.5-hour guided tour covers the imperial past of Rome with visits to Palatine Hill, the Roman Forum, and the Colosseum. The tour begins at Palatine Hill, where participants spend about one hour exploring the area that was once home to imperial palaces and is considered the birthplace of Rome. Next, the group moves to the Roman Forum for approximately 45 minutes to see the ruins of temples, shrines, and marketplaces that were central to public and political life during the Roman Empire. The final stop is the Colosseum, where visitors spend 45 minutes walking through the remains of the large amphitheater that hosted gladiator contests and wild animal fights. Entrance tickets and reservation fees for all three sites are included, along with headsets to hear the official live guide clearly. Food, drinks, and transfers are not included. The tour operates rain or shine unless the sites are closed for safety reasons.
