This 2-hour Roman Gladiator School takes place on the ancient Appian Way in Rome. Participants learn how to become a gladiator through a hands-on class focused on the basics of hand-to-hand combat used in Imperial Rome's gladiator games. The lesson is led by members of the Historic Group of Rome. During the class, participants wear authentic gladiator clothing and use replica weapons provided for the duration of the session. A drink is included. The school offers practical instruction in combat techniques and gladiator history. No hotel pickup or drop-off is provided. Gratuities are not included. The minimum age to participate is 6 years.

Gladiator School of Rome
The gladiator lesson is held at the Gladiator School of Rome near the Colosseum on the historic Appian Way. Instructors from the Historic Group of Rome outfit each participant with a traditional belt, tunic, leather gloves, and a rudis training sword. Participants learn fundamental gladiator sword fighting techniques and imagine combat against lions and other gladiators. An optional gladiator tournament with a prize for the winner may be joined. Every participant receives a certificate of achievement. Friends and family can observe the lesson from a designated viewing area. The ticket also grants entry to the Gladiator School of Rome Museum, where gladiator weapons and artifacts are displayed.
