Overview

This boat tour lasts about five hours and includes visits to Johnny Cay and the Aquarium on San Andrés Island. The transfer to the keys is shared with other passengers. Johnny Cay is a small island located seven minutes by boat from San Andrés. It features beaches and palm trees along with small restaurants where typical island dishes and cocktails can be purchased. The Aquarium, also called Rose Cay, lies east of San Andrés and is known for its shallow waters close to one meter deep, where visitors can see a large variety of marine plants and animals during a walk. The tour requires timely arrival as boarding is on a first-come, first-served basis and the entrance tax to Johnny Cay must be paid before sailing. The boat transportation and an internal tour of the bay are included, along with qualified personnel to assist during the trip. Food and drinks are not included, and a dock tax must be paid separately. The tour is conducted in both English and Spanish. The itinerary includes a stop at Rocky Cay, a small rocky island ideal for rest, followed by a visit to the Aquarium, where the water is shallow enough to feel like walking on water. Visitors should note that Johnny Cay does not have a landing dock, and local regulations restrict access to adults over 65 years old, pregnant women, people with disabilities requiring assistance, and children under five. Older adults with motor limitations are not allowed to board the boats.
