Overview

This San Diego small-group sunset sailing excursion takes place on a Catalina sailboat and lasts three hours. The boat departs from Sail San Diego’s private marina located in the Point Loma and Shelter Island area. The excursion accommodates up to six guests, creating a semi-private setting. Guests who book all six spots can have the boat entirely to themselves for a private experience. The sailing route passes by several landmarks including the old and new Point Loma lighthouses, the USS Midway Museum, the Coronado Bridge, and Coronado Island. During the cruise, guests can enjoy complimentary beer, soft drinks, and light snacks. Blankets are provided for cooler weather, and jackets or sweaters are available for purchase at check-in. Binoculars are on board for viewing the coastline and wildlife. Guests may also stream their own music through the boat’s Bluetooth speakers. Departure times vary by season, so guests must contact Sail San Diego after booking to confirm the exact time. The excursion requires a minimum of three guests to operate. If friends or family book separately, they should notify the operator in advance to be seated together; otherwise, guests may be assigned to separate boats. This is not a guided tour; captains do not provide commentary but can answer questions.
