After the food tour, participants walk to Pier 33 to collect their tickets and board the ferry to Alcatraz Island. The round-trip ferry ride is included. On Alcatraz Island, guests take a self-guided audio tour of the Cellhouse, which includes recordings from former prisoners and covers the history of the former maximum-security prison. Visitors can spend approximately three hours exploring the island at their own pace and may leave on any ferry departing every 30 to 40 minutes. The entire combo tour lasts between one and four hours depending on timing.
