Overview

This guided bike tour lasts between one and three hours and starts at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. Riders receive a high-quality bike rental, helmet, lock, and a map. The ride begins near the cable car turnaround at Bay Street and follows flat paths through several neighborhoods and districts, covering about a dozen areas without steep hills. Along the route, cyclists pass Fort Mason Center, a former military fort now used for arts and events, and Aquatic Park, which offers views of Ghiradelli Square, Hyde Street piers, and Russian Hill. The tour continues along the Golden Gate Promenade and Crissy Field, where riders see yachts, wetlands, and views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Stops include the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, built in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, the Wave Organ near Crissy Field, and the Warming Hut at the Presidio for a short break and restroom access. The group then arrives at the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center for photos and restrooms before cycling about 20 minutes across the two-mile Golden Gate Bridge span. After crossing, riders pause at Vista Point for photos of the bridge and San Francisco skyline. The tour ends at the Sausalito Boardwalk, where participants can visit shops, galleries, and restaurants. Returning to San Francisco is optional by riding back at one’s own pace or taking the ferry with their bike (ferry ticket not included). During the high season, there is an option to leave bikes in Sausalito for an additional fee.
