The tour begins in the village of Imerovigli with a 20-minute walk to view traditional Cycladic architecture, including the blue-domed cathedral and hotels located on the caldera cliffs. Next, the group travels to the Monastery of Profitis Ilias, situated on the island's highest mountain, where there is about 20 minutes to explore the monastery, which dates back to 1711, and to enjoy views of the island and the Aegean Sea. The tour then continues to the traditional village of Megalochori for a 20-minute walk along paved paths to see classic Greek buildings, two notable churches, and 18th-century underground caves. After Megalochori, the tour proceeds to Oia, where participants have 45 minutes to explore the village along the caldera with views of the sea. The final stop is Perivolos Beach, allowing 45 minutes to walk on the black volcanic sand beach or visit nearby beaches such as Perissa, Monolithos, or Kamari. Itinerary

1

Imerovigli

Spend about 20 minutes walking in Imerovigli, a traditional village on Santorini’s caldera cliffs. The guide explains the local Cycladic and Fira-style architecture while showing the blue-domed cathedral and hotels. Imerovigli remains architecturally preserved and is a busy tourist destination with hotels, restaurants, and shops.

20 min

2

Oia

Explore Oia for around 45 minutes. This village is located about 120 meters north of the caldera and stretches from the island’s west to east coast. Oia is famous worldwide for its sunset views over the sea behind the volcano.

45 min

3

Megalochori - Traditional Village

Walk through Megalochori for about 20 minutes, following paved paths past classic Greek buildings and blue-domed churches with bell towers. The visit includes viewing two prominent churches on the central square and entering 18th-century underground caves where people once lived. The village features buildings dating back to the mid-17th century and has archaeological ties to early Cycladic periods.

20 min

4

Monastery of Profitis Ilias

Stop for about 20 minutes at the Prophet Ilias Monastery atop Santorini’s highest mountain, less than 3.1 miles from Pyrgos village. Built in 1711, this monastery is a notable example of Cycladic architecture and offers panoramic views of the island and the Aegean Sea.

20 min

5

Perivolos Beach

Spend 45 minutes walking at Perivolos Beach or nearby beaches such as Perissa, Monolithos, or Kamari. Perissa Beach is covered with black volcanic sand and is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. It lies on the southeastern coast of Santorini at the base of the cape Mesa Vuno, near the ancient city of Thira. Perissa and Perivolos beaches together form a stretch of more than 7 kilometers with clear water and a gentle slope. Visitors may have lunch at a local taverna if time permits; lunch is at their own expense.
