The tour begins in front of the Info Bosnia Tourist Information Center on Ferhadija pedestrian street, near the Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures. From there, the guide leads the group to the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, built in 1530-31 with a 23-meter-high dome and a 45-meter minaret, notable as the first mosque in the world lit by electricity. The walk continues to Morica Han, a caravanserai originally built in 1551, which once hosted up to 300 people and 70 horses; it was restored after a fire in the mid-20th century. Next is the Sebilj Fountain in Bascarsija, a Neo-Ottoman stone-and-wood structure relocated in 1891, surrounded by the "Square of Pigeons." The tour then visits Kazandziluk, Sarajevo's coppersmith street, and Sarajevo City Hall, a Neo-Moorish building completed in 1896 reflecting Islamic art from Spain and North Africa. Further stops include the Emperor's Mosque, the first mosque in Sarajevo; the Latin Bridge, known for the assassination site of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and Sophie; and Gazi-Husrev Beg's Bezistan, a covered bazaar built alongside the now-destroyed Taslihan stone inn. The route also covers the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, the largest Orthodox church in the city; the Katedrala Srca Isusova, one of Sarajevo's earliest European-style buildings; and the Jewish Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, housed in the city's oldest synagogue. The tour concludes back at the Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures, a site symbolizing the city's East-meets-West character, before returning to the starting point. A certified local guide leads the tour and provides a bottle of water. Food and drinks are not included. Participants should wear smart casual clothing.
