Overview

This full-day bus tour covers three key sites around Siem Reap. The trip begins with hotel pickup between 7:30 and 8:00 AM in an air-conditioned vehicle. The drive to Kulen Mountain takes about two hours through the Cambodian countryside. Visitors will explore Banteay Srei temple, Beng Mealea temple, and the natural and historical points on Kulen Mountain, including the Reclining Buddha statue, the River of a Thousand Lingas, and the waterfalls. Banteay Srei features detailed 10th-century red sandstone carvings dedicated to Shiva. At Kulen Mountain, the tour includes the 8-meter Reclining Buddha carved into sandstone, the carvings of lingas and yonis in the riverbed, and two waterfalls that vary in size with the season: one 4-5 meters tall and the other 15-20 meters tall. Lunch takes place at a local restaurant near either Beng Mealea or Banteay Srei depending on timing. Beng Mealea, about 40 kilometers east of Angkor Wat, is a largely unrestored early 12th-century temple surrounded by jungle, with collapsed galleries and vine-covered walls. After visiting these sites, the tour returns to Siem Reap, arriving at the hotel between 5:00 and 5:30 PM. Bottled water, small towels, seasonal fruit tasting, and a professional English-speaking guide are included.
