Overview

This 5.5-hour snorkeling tour in Silfra Fissure includes round-trip transport from Reykjavík by air-conditioned minivan. After pickup in Reykjavík, travel to Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. There, a certified PADI Divemaster explains the geology of the Silfra Fissure, a deep rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. At Silfra, you receive specialized cold-water gear including a drysuit, thermal undersuit, gloves, hood, and boots. After a safety briefing, snorkel for about one hour in the clear blue waters, floating between two continents while observing jagged rocks and underwater formations. The guide takes underwater photos, which are shared with you after the dive. The group size is limited to six guests per guide to maintain safety and personal attention. Hot chocolate and cookies are provided after the snorkel. After the experience, return transport drops you back in Reykjavík. Snorkeling gear is included, but food and drinks beyond the hot chocolate and cookies are not provided.
