Overview

This small-group day trip from Reykjavik lasts about 10 hours and covers the Silver Circle route in western Iceland. The tour begins with a 20-minute visit to Glanni Waterfall in the Bifrost area. Next, the group stops for 20 minutes at Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe, which produces 180 liters per second of 100°C water. Afterward, there is a 45-minute visit to the Sturlureykir horse farm to see Icelandic horses up close. Visitors can try traditional hot spring bread called rugbraud with coffee or cold water. The tour then includes a 20-minute stop at Snorralaug in Reykholt, a small hot spring used since the 12th century and mentioned by medieval poet and politician Snorri Sturluson. Following this, the group spends 30 minutes at Hraunfossar, a series of waterfalls flowing from a lava field about 1000 years old. Nearby, there is a 30-minute visit to Barnafoss waterfall, known for a local legend involving a natural stone bridge. The main feature of the tour is a 90-minute guided walk inside Viðgelmir Lava Cave, nearly 1600 meters long, with colorful lava formations, stalactites, and stalagmites. The area around the cave entrance shows evidence of volcanic eruptions. The trip is conducted by bus with free Wi-Fi available. All admission fees and hotel pickup and drop-off within the Reykjavik capital area are included. Lunch is not provided.
