Overview

This 8-hour e-bike tour begins with a briefing on how to use the bikes near Largo da Severa in central Lisbon. From there, participants take a train from Rossio station to Sintra. During the train ride, you can discuss with the guide which palaces you want to visit or if you prefer to focus on cycling. Upon arrival in Sintra, you have the option to visit the National Palace. The cycling route then continues mostly within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, passing important landmarks such as the Quinta da Regaleira, built between 1904 and 1910, known for its symbolic architecture. The route also passes by Seteais Palace, now a 5-star hotel, and proceeds to Monserrate Park and Palace, a notable example of Portuguese Romanticism. The tour continues to Colares, an area famous for its vineyards. Then you reach Penedo village, where you can enjoy views from the church atrium before cycling to Urgueira village. Lunch is taken in Azóia village, which offers several restaurant options. After lunch, the ride goes through an ancient forest up to the Peninha Sanctuary, situated 488 meters above sea level. From there, riders get panoramic views of Espichel Cape, Arrábida, Carvoeiro Cape, the Berlengas, and the Sintra mountains. Then the tour heads back toward Sintra center, cycling downhill with a final view of Pena Palace. Alternatively, the group can detour to Guincho beach, known for its dunes and winds favored by windsurfers, before joining the bike path to Cascais. The tour ends by cycling along Cascais bay before taking the train back to Lisbon. The guide provides information throughout the ride, and the tour includes an e-bike, helmet, bottled water, train tickets, and insurance.
