Overview

This private getaway from Lisbon lasts between four and six hours and includes private transportation with a local guide who also drives. National Palace of Sintra

Located in the historical center of Sintra, this palace is the best-preserved medieval royal residence in Portugal, inhabited continuously from the early 15th century until the late 19th century. The palace will be seen from outside at several viewpoints during the tour.

Biester Palace (optional interior visit)

Dating to the late 19th century, the Biester Palace is a Romantic style building with elegant architecture and detailed frescoes by Luigi Manini and Leandro Braga. Visitors choosing this palace for the interior visit will have about an hour of self-guided time. Tickets are not included and must be bought separately.

Moorish Castle

Built by the Moors in the 8th and 9th centuries, this castle was key during the Reconquista and taken by Christian forces after Lisbon fell in 1147. Called the 'crown' of Sintra, it is viewed from designated viewpoints on the tour.

Pena Palace (optional interior visit)

Located at the top of the Sintra Hills, this palace is a prominent symbol of monarchy in Portugal. It stands within an 85-hectare (220-acre) natural park, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visiting the Grounds, Gardens, or the Palace interior is optional. If choosing to enter the Palace, tickets must be bought in advance due to high demand. The visit is self-guided, and visitors receive free time to explore. Tickets are not included in the tour price.
