Overview

This small group tour departs from London and lasts approximately eleven and a half hours. The first stop is Stonehenge, the prehistoric stone circle that is about 5,000 years old. Visitors have one hour and forty-five minutes to explore the site, including walking around the stones, taking photographs, and visiting the Stonehenge visitor centre, which features exhibitions, an archaeological display, and a cafe serving hot and cold food. After Stonehenge, the tour continues through narrow country roads in the English countryside to the city of Bath. Guests spend two to two and a half hours on the ground in Bath, with an optional walking tour led by the guide available for those who wish to join. The tour also includes a panoramic driving tour through some of Bath’s most notable streets. In Bath, the itinerary includes a visit to Bath Abbey, a 15th-century church built on the site where King Edgar was crowned in 973 AD. The group also stops at Pulteney Bridge, one of the few bridges worldwide with buildings along its span, a design originally proposed for the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. The tour includes a visit to a secret place, a location off the beaten path that is not disclosed in advance. The tour concludes with a stop at No. 1 Royal Crescent, a grand Georgian crescent where guests can take photos and hear about its history from the guide. Transport throughout the day is provided by a luxury, air-conditioned Mercedes mini coach with complimentary bottled water. Admission fees, including entry to Stonehenge, are not included and must be paid separately on the day. The tour is limited to a maximum of 15 passengers and involves a moderate amount of walking, including some uneven surfaces. The minimum age for participation is three years. Collapsible wheelchairs with removable wheels can be accommodated if accompanied by someone who can assist with boarding and disembarking. Large luggage is not permitted due to limited storage space. The tour operates in all weather conditions, so appropriate clothing is advised.
