Sólheimajökull Parking Lot
The hike starts at the Sólheimajökull Parking Lot, located about 35 minutes from Vík. Participants meet a certified glacier guide here and receive a safety briefing and gear. The group then walks through a quiet mossy valley with views of the glacier, lagoon, and surroundings before reaching the ice. Guides explain the glacier's formation, changes, and significance while keeping the group small for a more personal experience suitable for families, couples, and solo travelers.
