Overview

This full-day bus and walking tour lasts about nine and a half hours and covers Venice’s key historic sites along with visits to Murano and Burano islands. The tour begins with skip-the-line access to St Mark’s Basilica, allowing guests to avoid long queues and enter directly. Visitors spend roughly half an hour inside the basilica, except between November and March when skip-the-line is unavailable due to short lines. Next, the group tours Doge’s Palace for about an hour and a half. The guide explains the political system of the Venetian Republic and the justice system, showing the Grand Staircase, Bridge of Sighs, Venetian art, and former prison cells. After the palace, participants enjoy a 30-minute gondola ride through Venice’s canals with a gondolier, sharing the boat with up to four other people. Following the gondola ride, there is a one-hour break for lunch on your own. In the afternoon, the tour continues with a trip by boat to Murano Island to watch a glass blowing demonstration lasting about one hour and 45 minutes. Finally, the group visits Burano Island for about the same length of time, where guests can see a lace making demonstration and stroll through the island’s colorful streets. Included in the price is round-trip transport to Murano and Burano (if selected), the guided tours, skip-the-line entry to St Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace (if selected), the gondola ride (if selected), and a professional English-speaking guide throughout. Food, drinks, and gratuities are not included.
