Overview

This 4.5-hour tour departs from Skagway and travels along the Klondike Highway through British Columbia and into the Yukon. The tour includes multiple stops with narration and photo opportunities. The first stop is a 15-minute photo break at the summit of the White Pass and Klondike Highway. The route continues with a 5-minute stop at Pitchfork Falls, a 2,000-foot waterfall visible from the highway that flows under a White Pass and Yukon Railway bridge. The tour also pauses at the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park Visitor Center area, where visitors can view historical buildings and points related to the gold rush. The main feature is a visit to the remote Tutshi Sled Dog camp located in the Canadian tundra. At the camp, guests spend about 45 minutes meeting a real musher and their team of Alaskan Huskies in a large gated play area. Visitors can spend as much time as they like with the dogs and puppies. The camp includes an educational talk with a question-and-answer session, seating, restrooms, and a small gift shop. The tour includes a ride on a summer sled dog cart pulled by the huskies through the Yukon tundra. The guide provides narration throughout the journey. Pickup and drop-off at the Skagway cruise ship docks are included. Snacks and gratuities are not included.
