Overview

This private day tour begins with a hotel pickup in Cape Town and a short drive-by city tour of the central area to view historical monuments and buildings. Next, the tour stops in the Bo-Kaap neighborhood for photos of the colorful houses and an explanation of their cultural importance by the guide. After this, travelers take the cable car up Table Mountain, weather permitting, for a guided visit at the summit. Note that cable car tickets are not included and must be purchased separately. The tour continues with a scenic drive along Chapman's Peak, including a stop at a viewpoint for photos. Then, there is a visit to Boulders Beach to see the African penguin colony, allowing enough time to observe the birds. An optional lunch stop is available at Seaforth Restaurant, with ocean views, or at another restaurant if arranged in the morning with the guide. The tour proceeds to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve to visit the Dias and Vasco da Gama crosses and take photos at the Cape of Good Hope sign. From there, the group drives to Cape Point, where participants can walk to the lighthouse or take the Flying Dutchman Funicular tram (optional, extra cost applies). Cape Point is where the cold Benguela and warm Agulhas ocean currents meet. The day ends with a return to Cape Town via the Old Cape Road and hotel drop-off. The total tour duration is about eight hours and includes a private guide, vehicle, fuel, bottled water, and hotel transfers.
