Overview

The Tamarindo Estuary, located within Las Baulas National Marine Park, contains one of Costa Rica's largest mangrove forests spanning about 1,500 acres. This area supports nearly 175 bird species, including a rare hummingbird found only in three locations worldwide, all in Costa Rica. The estuary’s brackish waters provide habitat for crocodiles, iguanas, crabs, monkeys, and other wildlife. This two-hour tour by boat navigates the extensive mangrove channels with a naturalist guide explaining the local ecosystem. The company has over 15 years of experience leading safe and educational tours. The trip includes bottled water and snacks. Transportation is provided free of charge from Playa Tamarindo or Playa Langosta, and the tour schedule depends on tides. Additional hotel pickup outside these areas can be arranged for a fee. Tips are not included.
