The tour begins at Thingvellir National Park where guests meet the guides and receive a safety briefing. Participants can park their car at P5 parking, which is a 5-minute walk from the meeting point. After the briefing, they put on wetsuits and snorkeling gear and walk about 2 minutes to Silfra. Freediving occurs in the clear water between the North American and Eurasian plates, with visibility over 100 meters on most days. The guide stays with each freediver in the water for safety and comfort. After the dive, the guide assists guests back to the changing room to remove equipment and then offers hot cocoa to warm up.
