Overview

This half-day afternoon tour of Tokyo is operated by Hato Bus and guided in English by a nationally licensed guide. The tour lasts about four hours and uses an air-conditioned and heated bus. It begins with a visit to the Imperial Palace National Garden, where visitors spend around 40 minutes viewing the Nijubashi Bridge and the palace grounds. Next, the bus travels to Asakusa for a 60-minute stop at Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest temple. Visitors can see the Kaminarimon Gate, a statue of the god of thunder, a five-story pagoda, and walk along Nakamise Street, a 250-meter shopping street with traditional souvenirs and local snacks. On the way to the final stop, the bus passes by the Kabukiza Theater and the Ginza district, visible from the windows. The last stop is Tokyo Tower, where admission to the Main Observatory at 150 meters is included, allowing a 360-degree view of the city. Access to the Special Observatory at 250 meters requires an additional fee paid separately. From January 2027, Tokyo Tower will undergo steel repair work, and its exterior may be covered with scaffolding and netting. Food and drinks are not included. The guide provides commentary throughout the tour, but the driver does not act as a guide.
