Overview

This full-day bus tour starts with pickup from your hotel or a meeting point in Cancun or nearby areas. You travel in an air-conditioned vehicle toward Tulum, a significant Mayan port city. Upon arrival, you receive priority access to the archaeological site and take a guided tour of the Mayan temples, including the astronomical observatory and other cultural structures within the fortified city walls. The guide explains the importance of Tulum in the ancient Mayan civilization and its role in regional trade and culture. After about two hours exploring the ruins, the tour continues to Cenote Nohoch for a swim in the natural freshwater pool. The cenote is part of the region's underground water networks important to Mayan traditions. Visitors can swim freely or use snorkel gear, which is available to rent, to explore the water more closely. Following the swim, the group returns by bus to the original pickup point, enjoying views of the surrounding landscape on the way back. The total duration of the tour is about eight hours. Included with the tour are admission fees and priority entry to Tulum, a professional guide for the ruins, and roundtrip transportation from centrally located hotels if that option is selected. Optional extras such as lunch, lifejacket and snorkel rental, and certain mandatory government fees are not included and must be paid separately. Hotel pickup is not available from Tulum itself, and guests staying there must meet the tour at the designated meeting point.
