Overview

This 3-hour catamaran trip in St. Thomas centers on the natural environment around Little Buck Island National Wildlife Refuge, home to green sea turtles and tropical fish. The tour departs from Marriott's Frenchman's Cove, where guests check in 30 minutes before the 1pm Atlantic Standard Time departure from a wooden dock. After boarding the 54-foot US Coast Guard inspected catamaran called The VI Cat, the boat sails to Turtle Cove at Little Buck Island, located just off St. Thomas. At Little Buck Island, the crew provides snorkeling gear including mask, snorkel, fins, and snorkel vests. Guests receive safety instructions and can request a beginner snorkeling lesson if needed. Snorkeling takes place in the warm Caribbean waters with opportunities to see green sea turtles in their natural habitat, though sightings are not guaranteed. After snorkeling, guests can relax on the catamaran’s deck or in the shaded cabin. Water, light snacks, and a range of drinks are served after the in-water activities, including alcoholic beverages. The return sail to Marriott's Frenchman's Cove lasts about 10 minutes, concluding the tour. Guests must provide their own transportation to the departure point and are advised to arrive on time for check-in. The operator notes that tours may be offered in the morning during busy holiday periods.
