Overview

This snorkeling tour takes place at Turtle Town on Maui’s oldest reef and lasts about two hours. You meet at Olowalu, an easy-to-find location, where the guide introduces the tour and distributes snorkeling gear. Before entering the water, you get a snorkeling lesson while seated on the beach to ensure you are comfortable with the equipment. The tour is led by a marine biologist who guides you from the shore into a shallow, sandy area where you can stand and get used to your gear before swimming out to the reef. You’ll see green sea turtles, various fish species, and coral as you snorkel. The guide shares information about marine biology and ocean conservation during the tour. After snorkeling, the group returns to shore for a discussion about the animals and coral seen, as well as ways to protect ocean health. Photos taken throughout the tour are included. All snorkeling equipment, reef-safe sunscreen, flotation devices, and clean sanitized gear are provided for the small group of up to eight participants.
