Overview

The tour starts in Florence at the e-bike shop, where participants collect their electric bikes, get fitted with helmets, and receive a briefing. The self-guided route uses GPS and phone holders are provided. Riders leave Florence and head to the town of Fiesole, where they spend about 30 minutes visiting the historic area, stopping for a coffee, and enjoying views of Florence from the Monastery. The ride continues through cypress tree forests and passes Castello Di Vincigliata before descending into the village of Settignano. In Settignano, there is an optional stop at a small grocery shop offering homemade Italian food, which is not included in the tour price. From Settignano, the route leads to PoggioPiano vineyard, located near Al Girone in the Tuscany region. Here, riders meet the Galardi family, owners of an organic Chianti vineyard and olive grove. Visitors can relax at the estate with a glass of Chianti wine produced on site, accompanied by Tuscan cheeses, meats, bread, and extra virgin olive oils available for purchase. After the vineyard visit, the route follows dedicated bike paths along the River Arno back toward Florence. The final stop is Piazzale Michelangelo, where riders spend about 30 minutes viewing Florence's skyline from this well-known vantage point. The tour concludes by returning the e-bikes to the shop in Florence. The entire experience lasts between four and seven hours. Included are electric bike hire, helmets, GPS routes, phone holders, and roadside assistance. This is a self-guided tour without a tour leader. Participants must be regular or semi-regular bike riders with a good level of fitness and biking ability. Alcoholic drinks and food at the vineyard and Settignano are optional and available to purchase.
