Overview

This private tour lasts about 8 to 9 hours and begins with pickup at your hotel or private address in downtown Florence. Travel by air-conditioned minivan with an English-speaking licensed driver through the Chianti wine region. The first major stop is Siena, where you will have two hours to explore its medieval streets, including the seashell-shaped Piazza del Campo and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, also known as Duomo di Siena. Free time allows for visiting shops or sampling local food. After Siena, the tour continues to Monteriggioni, a small fortified village still enclosed by its original medieval walls. You will have about 90 minutes here for a walk or a break at a local restaurant. Next, the tour heads to San Gimignano, known for its medieval towers that define the skyline. The visit lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes a chance to visit the Dondoli ice cream shop, famous for award-winning gelato. An optional lunch can be added at Marronaia Wine Garden, an organic farm and winery overlooking San Gimignano's towers. This includes organic Tuscan dishes paired with wines like Super Tuscan, Chianti, and Vernaccia, served course by course. Special dietary needs can be accommodated if requested at booking. Choosing this lunch option slightly reduces time in Siena and San Gimignano and excludes the Monteriggioni stop. WiFi is available on board the vehicle, and unlimited cold mineral water is provided throughout the day. Umbrellas are supplied by the driver if it rains. The tour is limited to your private group of up to six people. The suggested departure time is 9:00 AM but can be arranged during booking. Note that an authorized guide is not included, and minors under 18 cannot participate in wine tasting.
