This half-day tour begins early with hotel pickup in Uluru and travel to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, the designated sunrise viewing area for Uluru (also known as Ayers Rock). Guests receive tea, coffee, or hot chocolate with biscuits while watching the sun rise over the desert and illuminate Uluru. After about one hour at the sunrise spot, the coach travels 45 kilometers to Kata Tjuta, also called The Olgas, where the driver-guide provides commentary on the park’s history and geology during the 20-minute drive. Upon arrival, visitors see the 36 steep-sided domes of Kata Tjuta from a vantage point, with Uluru visible on the distant horizon. The tour includes a one-hour walk through Walpa Gorge, a natural passage between two of Kata Tjuta’s tallest domes.
