This 2-hour coach tour begins with a departure from the resort in darkness for a short drive to the Field of Light art installation near Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Australia. Upon arrival, visitors first view the installation from a private dune-top while the guide explains the work of artist Bruce Munro and the process of creating this large-scale installation. Guests then walk among more than 50,000 slender stems topped with frosted glass spheres lit in ochre, deep violet, blue, and white. After exploring the paths through the lights, visitors return to the dune-top viewing area where tea, coffee, or hot chocolate is served. From this vantage point, guests watch the sun rise over the desert, illuminating Uluru and the nearby Kata Tjuta rock formations. The coach then returns to the resort in time for breakfast or other scheduled activities. The tour includes an experienced driver guide, entry to the Field of Light installation, hot drinks at sunrise, and travel in an air-conditioned coach. Prams and strollers are not permitted at the installation site. The tour is not fully wheelchair accessible due to sandy and uneven paths; however, electronic 4WD wheelchairs can be used. Non-electric wheelchair users can be dropped at the bottom of the sand dune to explore the Field of Light but will not be able to access the dune-top viewing area.
