Overview

This guided tour offers no-wait access to the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica through an official Vatican partner entrance. The tour lasts about three hours and includes a visit to the Vatican Museums with highlights such as the Gallery of the Maps, the Gallery of Tapestries, and the Pinecone Courtyard. Guests will see the Pigna statue by Donato Bramante and the bronze sculpture Sphere Within a Sphere by Arnaldo Pomodoro in the Pineyard Courtyard. The tour continues with a visit to the Sistine Chapel, where visitors can observe Michelangelo’s ceiling fresco The Creation of Adam and The Last Judgement mural. The final stop is St Peter’s Basilica, featuring artworks like Michelangelo’s La Pietà and Bernini’s baldachin. The guide concludes the tour at St Peter’s Square, designed by Bernini, with its colonnade, obelisk, and fountains. Groups include up to 20 people and audio headsets are provided. The tour is available in several languages and at multiple departure times. On Wednesdays, morning access to St Peter’s Basilica is not possible due to the Papal Audience, and during such closures, the tour extends the Vatican Museums visit instead.
