Overview

This full-day tour begins at Roma Termini station, where participants meet the tour leader and check in before boarding a high-speed train to Venice. The train journey takes a little over three hours and ends at Venezia Santa Lucia station. Upon arrival, there is a short walk to the nearby vaporetto stop. A one-way waterbus ticket is included for a scenic ride through Venice’s canals. After the waterbus ride, there is about one hour for self-guided exploration starting at St. Mark’s Square, where visitors can view the façade of St. Mark’s Basilica and walk through the surrounding alleys and across some of Venice’s iconic bridges. Next, the group visits the Bridge of Sighs, a white limestone enclosed bridge connecting the Doge’s Palace to the old prisons. Following this, there are approximately two hours to spend along the Grand Canal, observing Venice’s waterways and its more than 400 bridges. Before returning to the train station, the tour leader meets the group in the Cannaregio district for a Venetian happy hour, which includes a traditional snack and drink. The return journey departs from Venezia Santa Lucia station back to Rome, arriving again at Roma Termini. The tour includes roundtrip high-speed train tickets, a one-way vaporetto ticket, a tour leader, and the Venetian happy hour. Hotel pickup and gratuities are not included.
