Overview

This guided cultural tour in Venice lasts about two to three hours and covers key sites at Piazza San Marco. It begins with a detailed visit to the Doge's Palace, where guests see grand rooms decorated by Venetian artists, including Tintoretto’s “Last Judgment.” The tour continues across the Bridge of Sighs to the old prisons once holding Casanova. Next, the group visits St. Mark's Basilica, known as the Golden Basilica for its extensive gold mosaics. If the Bell Tower option is chosen, the guide conducts an outside tour of the Basilica only. The tour also includes entry to the History Gallery, where a virtual reality headset shows Venice’s past, highlighting the Basilica as the Doge’s private chapel and the Palace as a medieval fortress. Guests selecting the Bell Tower option ride an elevator to the top of the 98-meter St. Mark’s Campanile. From there, they can see views of the basilica’s domes, St. Mark’s Square, and the surrounding lagoon. The visit includes skip-the-line tickets for the Doge’s Palace, St. Mark's Cathedral, the Archaeological Museum, the Royal Palace - Correr Museum (including Empress Sissi Rooms and Napoleon Dancing Hall), and the Marciana Library (closed on Sundays). The tour is led by a qualified guide for the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark's Cathedral visits and includes audio guides and digital maps for the Bell Tower option.
