Overview

This full-day walking and gondola tour focuses on Venice's key landmarks and city history. The tour begins at the Rialto Bridge, where the guide explains Venice’s origins and food culture while visiting the Rialto Fish Market. Along the way, stories about figures like Marco Polo are shared. After the walking segment, guests take a gondola ride for about half an hour along the Grand Canal and quieter canals, with a maximum of five people per boat. This gondola ride is not included in the shorter Venice Express half-day option. A break follows in St. Mark’s Square, though this is only included in the 8:30am full-day tour and not in the 8:15am or Express options. After the break, the tour enters St. Mark’s Basilica with skip-the-line tickets, including access to the first floor to view the gold mosaics closely. Then the group visits the Doge’s Palace with pre-booked entry, touring council chambers and art by Veronese and Tintoretto. The Bridge of Sighs is viewed from outside for photos. The 8:30am tour lasts about six hours with a maximum of 20 participants and includes a lunch break on your own. The 8:15am tour and the Venice Express half-day option last about four hours, have groups of up to 25 people, and do not include a lunch break or gondola ride. The tour is led by an English-speaking local guide and includes headsets and skip-the-line tickets for St. Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace.
