Overview

This two-hour tour in Maui begins with a gentle hike to the first waterfall on the Road to Hana, located about 15 minutes from Paia Town. The walk passes through a private micro rainforest where cacao trees grow naturally. Visitors can taste and sample artisan chocolates, including award-winning varieties from around the world. There is also an opportunity to participate in making chocolate at the site. The tour continues at the Kings Gardens Maui, an ancient Hawaiian archaeological site featuring artifacts connected to the last king of Hawaii. The gardens include an ancient water tunnel called Mo'o, named after the giant lizard god, and contain the world's largest prehistoric dinosaur ferns. Throughout the tour, a guide explains how chocolate is harvested and processed from tree to dessert. A snack is included. Transportation can be arranged for an additional fee with at least 24 hours' notice. All profits support the preservation and conservation of the gardens. Children under four may be carried in a backpack if desired. The tour is suitable for women in the first two trimesters of pregnancy.
