Overview

Luxor's West Bank holds several important ancient Egyptian sites, spread across a wide area. This half-day guided tour covers the main highlights by private vehicle, starting with pickup at 7:00 am from your hotel or Nile cruise. The first stop is the Valley of the Kings, where many pharaohs were buried, including King Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tut-Ankh-Amon, Ramesses VI, Merenptah, and Amenhotep II. After about an hour, the tour continues to the Temple of Hatshepsut, also known as El Dir El Bahari, built by Egypt's only female pharaoh from the 18th Dynasty, who ruled around 1490-1469 B.C. The visit here lasts roughly two hours. The final stop is the Colossi of Memnon, the remains of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III, where the tour spends about one hour. The trip lasts around four hours in total and includes a private air-conditioned vehicle, hotel or cruise pickup and drop-off, a bottle of water, and snacks.
