Overview

This two-hour cruise departs from Waianae Harbor on Oahu’s west coast aboard the 53-foot catamaran Honi Olani, which offers both covered and open-air seating. The boat sails along the coastline, passing Makaha Valley in the late afternoon light. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the ocean, the Waianae Mountains, and the sunset over the Pacific. During the cruise, there is a chance to see dolphins, Hawaiian green sea turtles, humpback whales in season, and flying fish. A full premium bar is available, serving tropical cocktails, beer, wine, and soft drinks. Light appetizers are provided in the form of a bento-style snack. The captain and crew share information about Hawaii’s maritime history, including fishing, the origins of surfing, and traditional way-finding methods using stars, the sun, clouds, wind, swell, and birds. After the sun sets, guests can stargaze and use a Hawaiian sky map to identify constellations while the boat returns to the harbor. Restrooms are available on board. The minimum drinking age is 21 years.
