Isla Martillo

After sailing for 15 minutes we will arrive at Martillo Island where we will have 1 hour to walk among the Magellanic penguins and Papua penguins that live there, always accompanied by our guide.

Excursions are regulated and only a few companies have permits to land on the island, which helps to minimise human impact on the environment. Exploring the wildlife of Martillo Island and observing penguins in their natural habitat is one of the most memorable experiences you can have in Ushuaia.

Penguin Island A magical experience on this unique island of the Beagle Channel called Yekapasela, also known as Martillo Island, walking among a colony of more than 10,000 Magellanic penguins and about 100 Gentoo penguins. Occasionally, small groups of King penguins visit the island.
