** TEMPORARY LAGOON CLOSURE ** The Cairns Esplanade Lagoon will undergo its biennial maintenance program, closing Monday 8 July & reopening Monday 5 August 2024 to ensure the city's most iconic feature remains in peak condition.

Entry to the Cairns Lagoon is free and provides excellent barbecue facilities, perfect for birthday parties or afternoon family dinners. Lifeguards are on duty while the Lagoon is open. Wheelchair access to the Lagoon is available. For assistance please ask the Lifeguards.
